Near Mayenne, a neo-Gothic château on the riverbank. A gate framed by a gatehouse and a small annex opens onto a driveway that leads to the château and the park. Built in the early 20th century by Laval-born architect Louis Marchal for Marquis Robert de Négroni, owner of the nearby former ropewalk, the residence sits on the site of an old dwelling. Constructed in sandstone rubble and granite, with a slate roof, it comprises about 480 m² spread over four levels. Its neo-Gothic architecture rests on a composition of differentiated volumes and pitched roofs: corner turrets topped with pepper-pot hats, grouped chimney stems, Gothic-style fronton dormers, and a finial with a cross and a weather vane. Set on a slight rise above the Mayenne, the château faces east-west and overlooks the park that slopes down to the river.
