Conques-sur-Orbiel, Languedoc-Roussillon 11600

Montagne Noire Immobilier Agency is pleased to present this very beautiful 300 m² stone building, built in the center of the village of Conques-sur-Orbiel. This large building is full of history. Built around the 11th century, it has stood the test of time and has a rich past. It has served as a residence for a consul, then as storage during World War I, before hosting a colonel. In 1965, the house was bought by a local resident who used it for rental purposes. This building has 3 entrances: one onto the outer courtyard, another from the village square, and another from a lane. The ground floor currently comprises two dining rooms as well as two relaxation areas and an old storage room. We can also access two different outdoor courtyards. The kitchen is open and links the two dining rooms. The second floor provides access to a sleeping area consisting of 4 bedrooms as well as a large living room that could be converted. There is also a bathroom to be completed renovation (materials are already on site). The top floor features a large bedroom, a small library space, and a large laundry/toilet/storage area. Finally, another storage area is accessible behind the large bedroom. This house requires a lot of work, but it has great character and soul. The property is close to all amenities: primary school, medical group, bakery, grocery store and pharmacy, and is 10 minutes from Carcassonne. To visit!
