In the royal city of Amboise, A town house with a court-garden, terrace and garage. Set on a quiet one-way street, the house runs north to south. With a floor area of approximately 310 m², it rises over two levels with a converted upper level above. The principal facade, with its off-centre entrance door, combines tuffeau (a soft white limestone quarried in the Loire valley) at ground-floor level with a chequerboard arrangement of brick and tuffeau on the first level. The remaining elevations are rendered. The slate roofs are gabled, pierced by roof windows and finished with a dentil cornice. To the south, the walled court-garden is enclosed by stone walls and planted with flowering beds, shrubs and climbing roses. The garage, set in the gable wall, is reached from a lane running alongside the house. On the ground floor, an entrance corridor serves a drawing room to one side and a bedroom with shower room and lavatory to the other, then extends to a sitting room with glazed doors opening onto the court-garden, and a kitchen. On the first level, a landing serves four bedrooms, a bathroom with lavatory and a shower room with lavatory. On the upper level, a 100 m² converted space has been fitted out. It comprises an artist's studio, a sitting room, a library and a shower room with lavatory. The rooms are generously lit by a glazed roof light, roof windows and a glazed door opening onto a terrace. The house also has two vaulted cellars.
